Integrating into a Java application. Error Msg "Catastrophic failure"

When attempting to invoke the Ranger API via multiple Java-COM bridge libraries (com4j, j-Interop, Comfyj) I consistently get "Catastrophic failure" errors. This page from the Microsoft Support web site seems to indicate that the Ranger ActiveX component might not support COM automation: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/189065

Does anyone have any experience interfacing with Ranger from Java?

Hello Pete,

Sorry for the delayed response. We try to keep the forum pages locked down as we generally use this website as an FAQ page and not as real forum.

I did some research and it looks like the Java-COM bridges are having an issue hosting graphical ActiveX controls. I understand that some have had success integrating Ranger with "Java COM Bridge" which can be found at "http://www.javacombridge.com/". Please keep in mind that we are not endorsing "Java COM Bridge"; we are only sharing the information we have. Please make sure the bridge you decide to use is capable of hosting graphical ActiveX controls.
